Surprisingly Summer 2016 here in Cheadle Hulme was the second warmest since I started keeping records in 2009.

Average temp was 16.5°C - 1°C above the 30 year average for Woodford, Cheshire. Some of that will be due to my suburban garden compared to the open spaces of an official Met office site.

Warmest day was 19 July with 31.9°C. June was exceptionally wet with 6.11" (155mm) - 2.3 times the June average. There were no exceptional downpours recorded which is unusual. But I was lucky. Nearby areas did suffer flooding in June.

Below average sunshine for June and July but slightly above for August.

In short, warm and wet!
