Record was out by one day after a power cut messed the PC up. Seven year record broken for longest all-time dry spell. It seems unlikely it will rain today so I'll be back again tomorrow... :D

Wow Ray, 25 days... that is not the usual comment we get about UK weather.

The only time I got to that is in the winter when the rain bucket is frozen stiff..

Try to enjoy,
Paul

Paul, yes, rare times indeed. The green and pleasant land is not so green these days. Somewhat different to the usual description of an English summer - three fine days followed by a thunderstorm.

There is rain about 20 miles south but only localised. WE may get some but probably not. Only 8.5hrs to the record being extended by another day. :(
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

This would break some record's if this GFS chart comes off:
tmax_252.jpg
The GFS tends to under cook temperatures by two or three degrees, as well.

Finally got a new record of consecutive dry days; 15. CMX doesn't acknowledge this though. :(

A few mm of rain yesterday (20th July) brought to an end the longest dry period of 33 days. I don't imagine that will be broken for a very long time. 4 miles from the east coast means any rain normally has time to fizzle out before it reaches us. The sea breeze keeps us a little cooler. The all time temperature record was broken last week - but only 30.6 C.

Yesterday's tiny bit of light rain here stopped my consecutive dry days from moving from 49 to 50, although no effect on dying garden. A record in the single decade since my weather station started.

I don't use MX, but according to a forum explanation by Steve subsequently captured in Wiki, an end of day record like this exists in MX for the few microseconds between MX starting the daily rollover and MX finishing the daily rollover.

Were I live we managed to get 20 consecutive days of dryness before the rain set in, and ever then it was a brisk shower.

Amazing we had a hosepipe ban in place only after 14 days due to so called "excessive useage" for one day. we do not have a water shortage, yet the NI water board, can only hold/process 1% or water for drinking water. To me that seems a tad low tbh, and I've never heard of a hose pipe ban when there is no shortage of water

This station's all-time driest period ended on 12 July with 26 days of no measurable precipitation. Beat the previous record set back in 2011.

I thought that my east coast 30.6C record was going to hard to beat here, but a brisk southerly wind has mitigated any cooling sea-breeze this afternoon, and now it is 32C. I don't know about anyone else but the overnight temperatures are not excessively high to match - thank goodness! The average is around 11C,

I actually got a record yesterday

Max Apparent Temp 28.1C

Also last night was nearly 26C at 8pm, which is unheard of in NI.

Exactly the same temperature here. I was sitting outside in shirt sleeves until midnight - by then it had only fallen to 19C The temperature last night got down to just 14'C - but I can just about cope with that. It is when it 16/18'C or higher that I start to have problems sleeping. :(

This years longest dry period 96 days Friday, June 15, 2018

And my record dry period since I started my station 127 days Monday, July 7, 2014

Came close to breaking our High temp record today too with 118.3F, but my record is 121.2F from back on June 20th, 2017.
