I bet you were. You obviously survived. Hope you didn't suffer much damage. That's nearly 140Kmh/74 knots/force 12 Hurricane winds.

That's one record you want to put up on the wall :)

We live in along the gulf coast so we know all too much about hurricanes. But our homes are constructed to withstand hurricane force winds. So we didn't sustain any damage. But it sure was a close call! Too close for comfort, may I add!

This was during a near-miss from a tornado. We were under a tornado warning and there were all the sounds of a tornado, but it wasn't.

WOW!! I'm glad to see our weather station can handle winds at that speed! :o

The spec says they will cope with 100mph but I wouldn't like to try it :o

I've been waiting to be able to test it during a hurricane, lol. The company I bought it from says it'll survive but the reported values may not be accurate after 100mph.

My first record for 2011!! :)

Highest Minimum 25.7 °C on 30 January 2011

I have a feeling we're about to hear from Bob at Karoonda who got lightly roasted yesterday. ;)

Ok, you prompted me to fill you in.

Yesterday 47.3 °C at 17:01 (New Record)

Today 47.3 °C at 15:28 (Equal to Yesterday)

The temp is on the way down now so no danger of exceeding yesterdays new station record. Thankfully, the forecast for tomorrow looks like being in the low 30s.

Bob

Ouch, that's hot!

We had another sleepless night here last night:

Highest Minimum 28.1 °C on 31 January 2011

Luckily being in the hills we haven't broken 40 yet and its cooler today so I won't be breaking that record.
