Getting colder, -7.4C at 06:00 this morning in north Cheshire. But clear skies and no signs of snow this side of the Pennines.
I've admitted defeat to the family and switched the central heating on to timer today

What luxury  We only got down to -3.5C here, I said I would turn on the heating when frost forms on the windows (when I was a child the windows would often have jack frost on the inside :( )

Put some more clothes on! Think of the planet!

Our chooks aren't happy with the snow and the wind chill, they don't want to come out today.

Just horribly cold sleety rain here in West Wales, though much snow to our east!

Yes, it started soon after 3pm here in The Blackdowns. Quite heavy for a while but then died off. Snowing lightly now.

You must live in a frost hollow Mark. My overnight low was a mere -4.5C but at work (near Total Fitness, Handforth) it dropped to -6C and Woodford recorded -7.1C. I'd rather have it like this with crisp sunny days rather than the usual grey, damp clag we normally get. My 0.01" of 'rain' was condensation. :(

I'm going to swap the summer duvet for the winter one tonight.

I remember that when I lived in Norwich around 1970. It was blinkin' cold there!

Well for some reason it often seems to be colder overnight here than the surrounding area. My car temperature gauge often registers a +3C difference between here and M56 (3.5 miles away) in the mornings, and a corresponding -3C difference coming home in the evenings!

Dave, you're so cruel. It's all of 2° colder this side of town. I almost feel like putting a shirt on

I light the fire here if it gets down to 10°C.

And yes a REAL fire, nothing better

Well there might well be snow on the ground outside and -3C out there but it's nice and warm indoors :) We have a multi-fuel Rayburn burning logs and anthracite nuts which runs radiators in all rooms.
