Just discovered this portion of the forum. Figure I'd use it to post up some pictures and Records for Hurricane Irene as it came ashore here in Connecticut Sunday August 28th. We got over 8.5inches (21.5+cm) of rain within 24 hours causing major flooding, and wind gusts greater than 45mph. Lowest pressure I recorded was 28.72in as well. (Considering the lowest we normally get here is 29.5 in normal bad weather, 30.5 max really, its amazing!). I only recorded a single 45mph wind gust since my station is blocked from the direction the wind was primarily coming from but a friend nearby got a 52mph gust. We're located about 40-50mi insland from the Long Island Sound. People on the Ocean got it much wore. Over 150 homes were destroyed or condemed and demolished because of the storm surge. In some spots the ocean came in 500+ft insland from where it usually does, surging well over 20ft in height. We also lost power for 4 days, and much of our state didn't get it restored for 7-10 days after the storm. (50% of the state was without power Sunday-Monday after the storm hit, over 700,000 homes/businesses).

You can see the single 45mph spike. However I didn't get any others over 10mph due to the structure blocking the wind from the primary direction.
*** BEST PICTURES SHOWING FLOODING ***These two photo's are too large to just display (2mb each). They are panorama's so I can't shrink them without losing major details. However it shows a major LAKE that formed over a over 1-2mi square area (2-3km square). This is normally part grass and part corn field. This lake flooded over both "Judson Rd", "Westwood Rd", "Jacks Bridge Road" and completely flooded over at least 3 houses. The area where it flooded is called "Three Rivers Park".
