Life after fine offset?

Guys

I would appreciate some advice here.

My original Maplin/fine offset ran for years and years without issue (got one when they first appeared in Maplin), but died and I replaced the whole kit with another one in spring this year.

Now, the "new" kit has dies too - with the data error this time...never had that before.

I am loathe to buy another maplin special - so what sensibly priced alternatives are around that work reliably with Cumulus?

I guess plan B would be to budget for a spare fine offset....but I would like to think there is an option without being in the £3-400 Davis price range.

Any advice most appreciated.
