3000 days of Cumulus!

Post by RayProudfoot »

Another landmark day today for this station. 3,000 days of weather collected using Cumulus. :D

Thank you Steve for creating such a wonderful utility. I'm still running v1 but it does all I need so why change?

Here's to the next thousand days!
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Very much so Mark. And editing out any rogue data is easy too.

Still on Version1 too. Around 2900 days with the odd house move in between,

Don't you have to wipe your records clean with a change of location? Unless it's only a short distance of course.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

My station's first day of data on WU is July 25, 2008. Didn't start using Cumulus until October 23, 2008 so as of today 3200 days of Cumulus according to my dayfile.txt

And agree to reliability, and easy to use.

Enjoying,
Paul

Hard to let it go I imagine. Might be useful for comparison purposes.

Not very far apart. Last move was about 10K as the crow flies but in Auckland that can make a bit of difference.

That's 6 miles. I would certainly expect different stats with that distance. My garden is enclosed on 3 sides so even moving up the road to a more open plot would make a difference.

Once classic stat. In Jan 2010 the overnight min at my suburban station was -11C. Two miles away at my rural work's car park it was -15 and at Woodford (former airfield at the bottom of a sloped hill, 4 miles away) it was -18C.

Min and max will vary quite a bit depending on local topography, raInfall, wind etc less so.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

2,492 here, only 508 to get to where you are Ray! I'm using MX here and do miss the editor's in C1 but like you said, it does everything I want it to do right now, so Steve's concern over lack of updates as of late doesn't matter to most of us. The version's out there are stable and keep on plodding along just fine!!
Enjoy retirement Steve!!
