TNETweather (Kevin Reed) has passed away

My Beloved Brother Kevin Reed , The Best Bother In The World, You Will Be Dearly Missed Forever
I am deeply saddened by his passing.

10+ years ago I had collaborated with him to generate a set of website templates for Weather-Display software use, and then expanded to include Cumulus and other weather software. The architecture of the template set was Kevin's design.

Under the handle of TNETweather, he was open, sharing and always willing to help his fellow weather enthusiasts on the Weather-Display and Cumulus forums with scripts, graphics and general debugging assistance. His contributions to the weather community have stood the test of time and continue in broad usage. He will be missed by all he has known/assisted in the weather enthusiast community.

Everything saratogaWX said ... plus

Anyone of a certain "wx software" age will be aware of his innovative coding for presentation / display, and also the many 'stand-alone' snippets that he selflessly shared with all.

A big loss to the weather hobby community. I still have memory of Kevin's help to me when I first started my website in 2009. He offered many add-on features for Cumulus users and I still visited his Cumulus scripts page recently.

My heartfelt thoughts to his family.

Firstly my sincere condolence to Kevin Reed's Family.
I had the luxury of engaging with Kevin in the early days, though only on a minor engagement in comparison to the likes of Ken True's engagements.
The sad part is in reality that we are all aging and the end is inevitable. We never Say What We Should, before it's too late.

However:

(1) : I feel that is relevant first to post the following code in dedication to Kevin: (which I still use) and many will find among their multiple scipts.

Code: Select all

<?php
############################################################################
# A Project of TNET Services, Inc. and Saratoga-Weather.org (Canada/World-ML template set)
############################################################################
#
# Project: Sample Included Website Design
# Module: sample.php
# Purpose: Sample Page
# Authors: Kevin W. Reed <kreed@tnet.com>
# TNET Services, Inc.
#
# Copyright:	(c) 1992-2007 Copyright TNET Services, Inc.
############################################################################
(2): I also feel it is poignant, to give thanks (while we can) to those, who not only engaged with Kevin in a big way, but have also contributed in the overall PWS Community,l for many years. We are all aging and I feel a big thank you is welcome to these people who just keep giving.

(3): I could sit here typing for ages naming them, though will only name a few, as you all know who the others are. I feel Kevin would appreciate it and I'm sure the average user has appreciated all their hard work. (In no particular order).

(1): Thanks Ken True (saratogaWX) - You are a Legend.
(2): Thanks Steve (Cumulus) - You are a Legend.
(3): Thanks Mark Crossley (mcrossley) - You are a Legend.
(4): Thanks beteljuice - You are a Legend.
(5): Thanks daj - You are a Legend.
(6): Thanks water01 - You are a Legend.
(7): Thanks Brian (BCJKiwi) - You are a Legend.
(8): Thanks Paul (PaulMy) - You are a Legend.

Note: there are numerous other's (though mainly global forum and other software related) whom I'd also like to give accolades to in the list above, However we are talking about Cumulus here and not current (but from years gone by, so sorry this list stands for my appreciation of Cumulus contributers.

Thanks Guy's stay safe, keep breathing and thanks heaps.
Kind regards,
Tony Beaumaris, Tasmania (AUS)

Very sad news. I'm indebted to Kevin for providing the PSS script for my banner. Without his knowledge and skill it wouldn't exist.

He was very good at what he did and helped an awful lot of weather nuts like me. His family should be proud of him.

Thank you Kevin.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Damn. I only knew Kevin by name, on the scripts.
RIP Kevin, and thanks for helping make the Saratoga templates possible.
