Hmmm. I'm a little concerned because the updating of dayfile.txt ended just after midnight on 16/10/18. How will Cumulus generate data for each day when it eventually gets back online?

I thought that dayfile.txt would remain up to date on my computer.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Updating of dayfile.txt is unrelated to being able to connect to the internet, it should have updated at midnight with an entry for the 16th. I suppose it is possible that a problem with ftp could cause problems elsewhere in Cumulus, but I don’t remember it being a problem before.

It’s probably worth disabling ftp and then restarting Cumulus, given that it could be quite some time before the server is working again.

Thanks for that Steve. I’ve unchecked Auto Update in Configuration - Internet plus the 3 real-time options. I’ve also closed Cumulus Toolbox and then restarted Cumulus.

Dayfile.txt hasn’t been updated. Hopefully that will happen at midnight. As only one day may be missing it should be possible to create an entry using WU data.

Good to see you back online again.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Should have power tomorrow, assuming a mooring is available. Will try to find time to have another look at the server. Dinner booked at a Japanese restaurant, a first for both of us.

Good luck with the Japanese restaurant!
Ray, it's only the 17th today so you would never see the dayfile.txt file for the 17th till after midnight.

Good luck with the mooring. Do you have to sit crossed-legged when you eat? Hope you enjoy it.

On a separate note in case others want to disable FTPing I removed the update interval (15) and that stopped the updates to the server but WU and WOW continue.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

The last entry is for the 15th rather than the 16th. Hopefully I'll see an update for the 17th tomorrow morning.

It’s optional. An option we won’t be taking.

Pleased to report I have an entry in dayfile.txt for the 17th. The 16th is missing so I'll have to add that manually. I'll use the data from WU. It was an unremarkable day weather-wise so no other data needs editing.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.
