Data and backup

Post by PaulMy »

Cumulus seems to be working fine on my computer since installing in September, however there is nothing in the 'cumulus/data' folder and it says "folder is empty". Also, nothing in 'backup' folder. Is this normal, and how do I backup?

Steve I'm sure can come up with more complete information but it appears looking at what changes that the bulk of the data that would need to be saved would be the data directory.

If you have made changes to the web templates, you would want a copy of that as well.

Personally, I just save the entire directory structure every night using a backup tool that creates a simple compressed zip which get sent offsite for storage. It is fairly small compared (only 14mb's in the zip file) to other weather software packages and lets me rewind back to a previous version if something bad happened.

The backup tool I use is called SyncBackSE from 2BrightSparks Software:
