Hi all,
I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Jim and I'm from Ponte Vedra Florida, USA.
I have a Davis Pro 2 Plus weather station, with uv, rad, sensors
Soil moisture and temperature sensors, leaf wetness sensor, and
a extra temperature sensor.
I just found your Cumulus program while looking for something better
than the software I had been running. I have Weatherlink and also run VWS.
I run VirtualVP also so that I can run all the software the same time.
I'm running Windows Vista w/SP1.
The instalation of the program was very easy and now uploading the data to
Weather Underground (Rapid Fire) and my website.
Your Cumulus program is something I have been looking for, since I got this
weather station 4 years ago. First the display is so neat and clean looking and
the data that I like to view. You have done a real nice job, and will be using
Cumulus as my main weather software.
Thank You for the great program and you will recieve a donation from me for your
great work and continued success with your future releases.
Jim Brady

Hi Jim, and welcome. Nice looking page you've created. I assume you've found the setting to turn on the display of the UV and Solar rad sensors - I'll be adding support for all the other stuff like leaf wetness in Cumulus 2.

Hello Jim...

checked out your Cumulus site yesterday, and it looked great. Also checked it out again today...and now it looks even better. Great Job!!

I like the way you have simplified everything to the one page, and perhaps eventually you may add links to your Graphs page, somewhere on your exsiting page.

It also look like you have added in data/tags..that are not part of cumulus....perhaps from weatherlink or VWS software??

I was also curious how you designed your site, and is it something you could share with other's that would also like to play around with their sites?

My page for now is here..if you want to check out how mine looks currently. about the only thing I did to it so far was to :

add my own Webcam image
changed Background Picture.jpg to a Gradient background.jpg
added my Solar data to"Now" Page conditions

My main weather website page is here:

http://www.gateway2capecod.com

My main site uses Weather display software, which is a lot more detailed than weatherlink or VWS. There are also a lot of individual PHP Scripts running on my main pages.,which keep everything running and updating. Most if not all of them are from contributing members of the Weather display Forums.

I also have to agree with you on this Cumulus Softaware that Steve has created as far as the Main Display Screen being simple and nicely laid out.

besides the weather display, and now Cumulus running..I also installed Virtual VP the other day, so I could run both side by side. as for weatherlink..I do have the weather link CD that came with my Davis vantage pro2, but never installed it. My davis was the basic one model 6152..without the solar or UV, but I recently purchased just the Solar sensor a few months back. That UV sensor is quite expensive and havent made that purchase yet.

Thanks for any reply...Chris

Hi Chris,
First of all, I see your Cape Cod, I'm an old Cape Codder, born and raised there.
Born in Sandwich on Cape Cod in 1937. I moved to Florida in 1970, I still have family there
on the Cape.
Thank you for the compliments on my site. Yes I plan to add links to other pages for graphs and all.
No there are no extra tags, but I have added things that I have come up with over the years
using script, in fact most of my page I used script as I found the program I use for my
web pages changes the Cumulus tags and has to be redone, using script I don't have that problem.
I use Homestead Site Builder, for my web pages.
I like to try and keep most of the data on one page as I do, as my viewers like it that way also.
I'm still working on my site and it will be changing until I get it the way I like it using only Cumulus.
I hope I answered your questions, feel free to ask me anything, I'm no expert at this I just enjoy
trying different things with what little knowledge I have with script.

hello Jim...

I have been following your progress and must say I really like your idea's and designing of your layout of your site. I also checked out the main Homestead page, and they are highly rated for making websites by PC Magazine.

I know your not done with your site yet, and there are other parts of your VFW site that link to it, but remember to add an Email me/ email us link somewhere onto your homepage..A lot of people forget this , and it is nice to have it there incase any visitor ever wants to conatct you for various reason's.

so you were orinally from around here?..I am not very far from Sandwich. Mass. actually I was born and raised In plymouth and moved down into wareham area back in 1993-94 and enjoy it very much here. It is close to Canal for Striped Bass & Bluefish Fishing during Summer time and also close to all major Highways for commuting to work.

Tell all your relatives that are still up here to check out my weather website, if they ever need weather Information. for this area.

have a good day...Chris
