Google ad choices

Post by Karv »

I saw in another thread about dating ads etc.

You can choose which ads you get from Google to a certain degree.
To change your preferences, do the following

In the ad there will be a tiny button (show in attached pic) . Click this, which will take you to the Google adsense preferences.

From here, there is a link for "Ads Preference Manager", clcik this.

On that page, you can specify types of ads and edit your demographics - age , sex etc.

By messing with these, you can get google not to show you certain types of ads ;)

Hope this helps as I found it quite annoying that whenever the wife would look at my screen it was plastered in dating ads causing undue friction.

I use Adblock Plus and never (OK - very rarely) see any adverts.

Ditto, albeit with AdBlock, if you have Chrome you can also make your google ad preferences permanent with a plugin, don't know if it is available for other browsers.
