Hi,

First, Cumulus is awesome...I love the simple to read clean looking dashboard.

Second, I need help importing about 1.5 months of Easyweather data.

Dane,

From the posts it looks like you have a way to do this...do you mind sharing? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Josh

You seem to be getting lots of requests for your software. Obviously it is very popular.

Sorry to add to them but could you send me a copy too?

Thanks

Chris

Thanks in anticipation.

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me out also with the Easyweather conversion?

Thanks

I am sure it is me doing something wrong but now that I have the converted easyweather file for cumulus do I just modify the today.ini to something like this (My weather station was activated in September):

[General]
Date=01/01/2012
Timestamp=01/01/2012 19:00:00

That was all I put in the ini file, I deleted everything else, however my records still only start in October (when I began using Cumulus)

Can someone put me on the straight and narrow?

You just need to set the today.ini stuff to the same as the last entry that you now have in your Cumulus logs (normally this happens automatically when you are running Cumulus). When you then start it up, it will download the logger data from the station from that date and time to the present time.

Assuming the conversion process just provides the monthly logs, you will need to use the various editors in Cumulus to get it to create your dayfile.txt entries and then your all-time records etc; a kind of "bootstrap" process.

I do not know what Dane's Easyweather conversion produces as output, because I did my conversion myself last year to bring in 2 years of prior results. (My method was to use spreadsheets, it probably was much slower than whatever Dane offers, so do not ask me to convert yours!)

But I can confirm that with 'dayfile.txt' populated, I successfully updated the year log (in the year Cumulus started) simply by following the help for the edit menu in Cumulus.
Similarly I used that edit menu to put 2 years worth of prior results into the all-time extremes, and more recently used it again when I installed 1.9.3 into the new monthly extremes.

Each was a one-off process, because while Cumulus is running, it updates the relevant records as appropriate for latest observations regardless of how long they started before the Cumulus start date.
I did not need to change 'today.ini' or 'Cumulus.ini' (because those were being updated by Cumulus as it was running to have its edit menu available).

For completeness, every day in dayfile.txt appeared in DAJ's http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4788&p=41032&hilit=summary#p41032 Annual Data Summary page without any further action (although I made changes to CSS, the script and added extra parameters to enhance it for me)
