I have looked at Gina`s photos and notice the cups can be removed.
after over 3 years service the bearings were starting to stick at very low wind speeds.
I have a spare anemometer which i have fitted but would like to renovate the original.
Is it a case of simply pulling the cups from the body or am i missing something there is no obvious grub screws or fixings so I assume its just friction.
The anemometer is ok again now after a good flush though with water but i would still like to take it apart without breaking it.
many thanks
Neil

The anemometer plastic cup centre section is a push fit on the bearing outer, effectively sealing it, so spraying with WD40 etc is not often effective.
Thus, gently prise the plastic bearing "cup" by sliding a couple of wide thin blades on opposite sides between it and the anemometer mounting body, levering upwards.
A drop of light oil (such as sewing machine oil) on the bearing race cures it.
