Hi All

I've been trialling Cumulus for a couple of months now - what a difference over that nasty piece of software that comes with my WS1081! :o

A question / observation about the Cumulus software: is there a way to alter a time zone setting somewhere in the software so that the information about sunrise / sunset etc has the right time? At the moment, everything is swapped around: sunrise is listed as 17:59, sunset as 06:26 - would be interesting to have the day run backwards, for sure, but is there a way to fix this?

Cheers
Peter

That's just the ticket, thanks. I saw that info sitting there but hadn't entered in long / lat, figuring that Cumulus would just take my locale from the Windows date / time / location.

Thanks again. :)

Hi Peter
Do you have a weather website address?

That would be the sensible way to initialise Cumulus but......

Windoze time is nothing like astral time - be absolutely useless for calculating Sun, Moon etc.

As a starting point it is ideal (and works) for someone who doesn't have, or know, their exact location. But I'm sure you can speak for steve in telling everyone standard time zones are absolutely useless for giving approximate sunrise/set, moonrise/set - after all, he won;t speak for himself on matters that make it easier for users of his software...

Besides, if you care to READ the original post and my response to it - it mentioned locale which Windows does manage quite well.

But I am sure you realise the beteljuice speaks for no one but himself.

I can only assume that others have more sense and ignore inconsequential chaff.

PLEASE forgive me if I am wrong, and I will apologise if I am, but it seems your having a dig at steve? for what reason?

Oh, and FYI

Using Windows System locale, would be POINTLESS, as it merely specifies hourly zones, whereas I am sure you already know, the sun will set differently in one point of a country to another?

Please don't feed the troll. He can 'dig' all he wants, I don't see his posts anyway, and haven't done for a long time; I have better things to do with my time. If his recent posts are anything like they used to be, he seems to think that I should drop everything (including my personal life) and immediately implement all of his often wacky ideas about how Cumulus should work. It wouldn't be so bad if he weren't so obnoxious about it.

You would think that with the number of people he's pissed off here and elsewhere on the internet, he would be starting to get the message that the problem is him and not the rest of the world.

End of thread, please; the original question has been answered.
