Had an accident with the N96GY - the pole fell in high winds, smashing the anemometer and other parts.
Am wondering about upgrading to the latest version - maybe with the soalr power - just wondering about how to get continuity with previously stored data.

Any thoughts folks?

Cheers

By 'previously stored data' do you mean stored in Cumulus? If so, you can just continue to run the existing installation. You would need to change the station type if you get the version with solar sensors, and the safest way to do this is to edit Cumulus.ini before you try to run with the new station, and change

Type=5

to

Type=7

The only issues I can think of are:

1. You might get an odd rainfall reading at start up the first time.
2. Cumulus will try to download logger data to catch up from the point where you last ran it. Assuming you won't be running it again for a while (until you get a replacement), the data won't be there in the new station, so you may get some other odd end-of-day values which will need cleaning up.

Many thanks Steve - and apologies for delay in replying - a quick holiday became available.

I am now wondering in the light of the mixed comments on the newer units if it might not be time to look for an alternative, and just manually add some max and min levels when the new station is up and running - all-time lows, highs pressure etc. Would Cumulus bark at me doing that I wonder?

Many thanks again,

It should be OK, you can just use the built-in editors to modify the records, it shouldn't matter to Cumulus at all.
