Hello,

I've build a section on my site to support Cumulus translations needs.
With simple "Fill-the-form" pages, you just have to do translation without worrying about the code!

All pages available from Cumulus has been converted to easy to fill forms.
Translations will be available for all template I've made, and for Cumulus Standard template too.

You could see "multi-language" result pages at that link : http://meteoduquebec.com/translation
You could always see "what's the job" at that link: http://meteoduquebec.com/translation/demo.php

All languages are welcome... and individual help is available to assist you.

Jacques

Hi,
I've noticed a few mistakes too in the translation of the cumulus web pages in french in the wiki section.
I've now fully translated all the pages on my web site.
If it can be of any help to anybody, I post the link here: http://meteoardeche.pagesperso-orange.fr/
Don't hesitate to ask for any piece of code or translation.

Laurent

I think there is a way to do this with Javascript -- I'm sure we have discussed it before on the forum. I will have a search

Hi! I'm searching for this translation with javascript but find no answer.
Where can i find it ? Thx.

OliII's first posting http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8557 was for php - see that thread for the successful outcome

Jacques - I did not mean to imply you had JavaScript solution.

Actually, date modifiers can be used when assigning values to JavaScript variables, so it can be done

How do I get the actual files for using the translations in my weather station? The Wiki-page seems not to be up-to-date (Is Daj still active?), and I did not find any link to download files from http://meteoduquebec.com/translation

Actually I already translated 80% of the text to Finnish myself (because it was not available in Wiki-page), before I noticed this Meteo du Quebec web site...

Welcome to the forum Jani.

You already have them, make a copy of the files that needs to be translate in to you're own languages, and make the change that needs to be done.
Start with the template files, xxxxT.htm (indexT.htm).

It's not only Daj's job, it's our jobs.
We'll watch it.

Hi Jani,

Translation project has been established for that reason. Wiki translation
are pretty difficult to maintain and offered just for base template. Then, with help
of a lot of kind "translators", we've build a "language pack" available for all users
to include these languages in their template, or download one of 4 multilanguages
templates ready to install with detailed step-by-step instructions.

Just a little "error", project started in Météo du Québec (French) website, but due
to the fact that so many kind users have participate, English imposed itself as the common
base language to join all members. Then, Weather by You! was created for that purpose
and all language files has been deposit there, alone or as a complete "languages pack".
You could download them on Download section, at this link: http://weatherbyyou.com/dl.php?page=3&sort=3

Text _standard_XX are text files for template text. You will also find file Webtags_192a
and Webtags_193 that contain "data file" to be processed by Cumulus. All these files are for .PHP

Hope you enjoy it,

Regards,
Jacques

Hi Jacques,

thanks for very good templates! After some HW problems with the station I finally got things working and the site is now running in http://valtari.kapsi.fi/vedenoja/ I have still some work left with the secure FTP scripting for automatic uploads, not all strings are translated to Finnish and in some places the scandinavian letters are not shown properly. But all-in-all it looks very good.

I can give some comments to the template and to setup instructions. Do you prefer that I give my comments to this site or to http://weatherbyyou.com/forum/index.php ?

br
Jani

Hi Jani,

For sure, Weather by You is now the official place for comments/suggestions
... and as we "stole" this old thread about Cumulus standard template translation!

Jacques
