In common with many softwares there is NO zero degree reading (1 > 360) - zero is used to denote no wind (direction), therefore it is 'calm' with NO compass bearing ;)

In marks example it would be to give a text overlay instead of a 'needle'.

Hi Brian,
I have been trying out your template (http://weather.kcsolutions.com.au/pws/cumulus.php) and noticed that the Monthly Temp graph and the Monthly Wind graph show a few flat spots where the values are the same for consecutive days (see attached).

Where does the data for the graphs come from? If you check the summaries I have at http://weather.kcsolutions.com.au/wxtempdetail.php then you can see the values are not replicated in your graphs.

Regards,
Colin.

hi the data generated from your WU history think the way to go is to implement data generated by cumulus but i need some help as i don't use the software and would need someone to
generate some test graphs generated by cumulus on a blank page/template not in an existing template with menus and design etc..

and thanks beteljuice for the explanation

My code snippet was just made up, it wasn't extracted from anywhere.

weatherist34 wrote:im also not getting why adding the word calm to a wind_degree value output ?
if ($wind_degrees>360) {
echo '';
} elseif ($wind_degrees ==0) {
echo 'Calm'

the template uses the $(cumulus)[number] from $file_live=file_get_contents($livedata);$cumulus=explode(" ",$file_live);

Cumulus can (but not always - it is optional) uses a direction of zero to indicate there is no direction - ie no wind, calm. In that case a value of 360 indicates north. This is how I have it configured.

The other Cumulus 'option' is to just use 0-359, and 0 means north (or I think? calm, if the average speed is zero)

That's odd.... My WU data doesn't show those values either.

Hi Brian!

I forgot to mention a small bug I fixed :oops:

There's an issue (on all versions of the template) where the barometric pressures are incorrect, its actually a bug with wxwugraphs. If you look carefully at your yearly pressure graphs, you'll see the min and max lines cross over in various places - they shouldn't do that. The min pressures are basically showing incorrectly. I noticed it when I recorded a low pressure of 974mb - the graphs wouldn't go below 1000mb.

The fix:

settings.php - line 50

Code: Select all

$mysp = array("temp" => 10, "baro" => 10, "humi" => 70);

Change it to this:

Code: Select all

$mysp = array("temp" => 10, "baro" => 30, "humi" => 70);

:)

HI COLIN

i will see what i can find perhaps its rounding of the data or spike related within the scripts , i can't replicate it but will see what i can find to improve it or if anyone has any suggestions,ideas..

Tina thank you thank you wow in the nick of time i was just finishing updating the wind compass script based on a more streamlined code suggested above basically now just using a few lines and a bit of css as opposed to 360 lines :-) and a more cleaner design all based on css no images .
many thanks for the bug fix have implemented it into all versions . hope to at some stage use the cumulus generated data and get away from using an external resource for the charts.

.homeweatherstationcompass .direction.degree{transform:rotate(<?php echo $cumulus[7];?>deg)}

have a nice day

Since updating to the 20th April version, I have been getting the following error in the console any time I click a graph link:
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (forecast10day.json, line 0)

The file it is looking for is http://weather.kcsolutions.com.au/pws/y ... 10day.json

If I click on the "Forecast Ahead" link I get this error:
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (forecast10day.json, line 0)

but this time the file it is looking for is http://weather.kcsolutions.com.au/pws/g ... 10day.json

As you can see, the files path in each of the above cases is different and from what I understand, the file should in fact be http://weather.kcsolutions.com.au/pws/j ... 10day.json for both cases anyway.

Also getting lots of warnings now about combo.js
Deprecation warning: months accessor is depreciated. Use month instead
Deprecation warning: years accessor is depreciated. Use year instead

good morning sorry to hear your some problems

i checked your site and couldn't see or replicate these issues , attached a screenshot from your site . you can ignore the deprecation warnings ill remove them in the near future. have you fixed it ?

the only file calling the forecast10day.json is the /graphs/10dayweather.js in this part at the end of the script
s.ajax({url:"../jsondata/forecast10day.json",dataType:"json"

i have seen in the past different server configurations require the absolute path or a slightly different path setting this http://www.valwalker.co.uk/pws/IPORTSMO4.php install using a different version had same or similar issues , whilst not exactly a problem just something you don't see when Im using a local server here .so thanks for the awareness

really enjoy this forum its all good feedback whether issue or non issue.

update , i found the issue of loading forecast10day.json and other json files when calling the graphs , i have updated the yearly folder in the download.
but i have no idea but its related to the path to the jQuery file , tried using the jQuery locally in different paths but i see the error you mention on hosted server i couldn't see it on local server anyway using the edited line below fixes it , why i really don't know.

you can change it manually just by using the new yearly folder and copying over the wug-settings.php so no need to upgrade everything or
edit the line show below on your current setup

$jQueryFile = '../js/jquery.js'; // Custom path to jQuery libary (always needed)

to

$jQueryFile = 'https://code.jquery.com/jquery-2.2.3.min.js'; // Custom path to jQuery libary (always needed)

fixed the Deprecation warnings just need to replace the combi.js in the js folder from the current download , I've updated download to reflect. unfortunately its not so easy to just edit current file(multiple lines to edit) better of just replacing it .

really easy way to reflect latest download/changes is make a copy of your settings.php on your desktop or somewhere , just unzip the current download and replace the settings.php with your original and just replace all the files on the server . no need to configure settings.php each time unless you have specific personal modifications to other areas etc.

hi all

i was going to hold back on this release but it looks like i will be away a lot longer than originally thought so I released this last night .

basically it has a whole new css and grid design based on webkit-flex so without using a browser that supports or recognises it won't be of much use in using this version.
I've no plans to make this IE compatible I'm at loss with IE stuff and if i could make my somewhat old windows laptop stay running without some crash or something trying to install itself i would have done it long ago.

no significant changes to any data related outputs one minor add on when using desktop there is fullscreen option

eliminated bootstrap as no real requirement in this template , removed velocity features seamed to play havoc on some android based devices.

thanks for all the input much appreciated. http://www.idesign34.com/homepws/homeweather.html

I have updated and works out of the box (other than copy over the previous settings.php) http://www.komokaweather.com/pws-v20160424/cumulus.php

Thanks Brian,
