New download link: Light and Dark theme

Hi my first post but been lurking around for a while gathering information

For many months I have been developing a template to read the realtime.txt output from Cumulus . however i don't use Cumulus my hardware is not supported but was fortunate
to use someones realtime.txt for developing.

I released this template some months ago and have steadily ironed out bugs, dislikes and other teething issues however its always ongoing as the nature of different hardware/servers etc generate problems that i don't often see or experience.

The template is primarily designed to replicate your weather station data output ,its not analyst tool ,its not template that was designed endless amounts external resources it was just simply put together with ease of use , easy on the eye and just display station weather data realtime based on the upload and update period when the realtime.txt is generated.

It's free , it has no commercial value to me and you are free to do what you want to it.

Hi Brian, and welcome to the forum.

I have been using the template for several months as it has gone through some tweaking. Very nice http://www.komokaweather.com/pws/cumulus.php

Enjoy,
Paul

Am I missing something ?

I can't see an obvious (record) date either on the screenshot above or Pauls site ..

The data is what is "current" like a console, no data logged or going back other than graphs and forecasts which are dates/times as indicated. It started as an extraction from WU uploaded data to a now "realtime.txt" source.

I think what beteljuice means is that the date does not appear anywhere, so how do you know the data is current? The time may be from a day a week ago.

hi no your not missing anything I've updated the template to output the time from the realtime.txt (updated screenshot) . so all realtime time data date/time marked .

sorry i don't use the software and my realtime.txt i use for development locally is dated 02/04/16 , i don't have access to a live realtime.txt but basically added

${cumulus[0]} ${cumulus[1]} in the realtime output display.

going forward I'm looking forward to implementing other features from this software and try to take advantage of the other data it actually uploads. so I'm looking for someone who uploads
more than just the realtime.txt and does not mind if I develop using it there live data.

thanks for the feedback...brian

Hello Brian, I like the template and would be willing to give you access to my data. I currently upload NOAA reorts, a 'standard' and 'modified, realtime.txt and a 'modified' webtags template in php format. Are these of any use to you?

hello

many thanks for the pm,emails,replies.

so interesting ideas however I am at your mercy on some of these .

1. use graphs generated by Cumulus?
its quite easy if you are able to generate the graphs on to a blank page with no design it can simply be used inside the current template modals

you would simply replace the url for example

<a href="yearly/temptoday.php" data-featherlight="iframe" style="margin-left:20px;"><i class="fa fa-line-chart fa-1x"></i><span style="color:#66a1ba;"> <?php echo "${day}\n"; ?></span> </a>

to your.com/nameofpage.php nameofpage.php is where the chart particular resides on blank page with no other html or design elements .

<a href="your.com/nameofpage.php" data-featherlight="iframe" style="margin-left:20px;"><i class="fa fa-line-chart fa-1x"></i><span style="color:#66a1ba;"> <?php echo "${day}\n"; ?></span> </a>

2. add radar images ?

hmmm I'm don't like em and it means another external resource to be used and you have no or little control over the output in terms of design but feel free to use your own ideas .

3.use more data from the realtime.txt ?

its quite easy as the code just uses a corresponding number from the output

for example if you want the date to be displayed note the number in bold

<?php echo "${cumulus[0]}";?>

4.thank you for all the permissions to use realtime.txt data i will use many of them in the future much appreciated.

finally we can use what ever Cumulus is able to generate into an uploaded *.txt file .

Thanks for the templates. I have been trying to get going with them, but will not run on my web server. Looking at the various templates in a good php editor, and debugging with the same, It comes up with the following error...

"Warning: explode(): Empty delimiter in *****\cumulusnonmetric\livedata.php on line11"

I have changed all that needs it in settings.php.

Any clue as to what is happening most welcome..!

Thanks ..............Geoff

hi what is the path to the realtime.txt ?

if i check your website through your url below and look at source the realtime.txt is throwing back a 404 every 10 seconds etc

the http://www.yoururl.co.uk/realtime.txt returns a 404

404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Thanks for quick reply Brian...............You were I think looking at the wrong site. Your templates are at the address below. I thought it maybe a path problem, but I up load realtime direct to the main testwx directory. One point. I use CumulusMX, so don't know if there is a difference in the realtime files. I will continue to try and sort it. It has to be a small glitch i can't see at the moment..!!

Cheers............Geoff

www.gw3atz.co.uk/testwx/cumulus.php for your templates.

ok all your urls display an error of 500 (http://www.gw3atz.co.uk/testwx/cumulus.php) or 404(one in your signature) so can't do much right now but sure we will sort it sooner or later.
