I'm absolutely made up! :D Thanks to all who helped. The programming is brilliant to be able to read a text file and create a display like that in a couple of seconds!

The averages are a real asset too. My visitors will enjoy the major upgrade.

Just need those double-named seasons sorting. http://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk/be ... ummary.php

Links to the new improved Data Summary will be updated in the next 24 hours.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Hi Ray,
Likely you still need to ftp the seasonal images. Sorry can't help on the duplicate season names.

Enjoy,
Paul

Thanks Paul. That was it and it's also fixed the double season names.

Well done, Ray.
Be aware that clicking the Valid HTML anchor at the bottom of the page indicates you have HTML errors on your new page. As I said previously I only know HTML5, this starts as laid out in the Wiki at
http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Customised ... s_template,
but I am guessing your errors arise either largely due to the first line describing it as strict XHTML while perhaps some of subsequent lines can only be recognised by HTML5, or as Paul talks about having multiple versions on his computer maybe the individual php files are not all from same development time and are not therefore totally compatible. I recall that unrecognised attribute names used by the original data summary caused problems highlighted ages ago in the forum, maybe that is still a problem in your code. Someone knowing more than me might interpret the HTML error report and help you resolve exactly what should be corrected in your new code.

Thanks sfws, I’ll look at that any see if I can work out the problem.

I’m quite pleased I managed to get it running without too many issues to overcome. Wouldn’t have been as straightforward without the help of yourself, Paul and Mapantz.

Funnily enough, I had just set up the same programme at http://www.tottonweather.co.uk/betel_datasummary.php :D

I also have the double season name in the seasonal summary, how do I include the images in there?
Any help appreciated!

The images should have been included in the zip. Just upload them to the same folder.

Copy the three png files and one gif to the parent folder on the server.

I’ve added some extra elements including Wind Dir. On the associated display some directions have the indicator in a blue block but others don’t.

http://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk/be ... ummary.php

Is this by design?

Blue blocks track your movement across the table - i.e. visited cells

I think we’re talking about different things. I’m aware when I select a cell the days show in the left most column. But this is not the issue. Some wind directions display differently to others.

Ray, I don't see anything other than the plain black directional letters and arrows for all your days. Maybe it is the browser I am using - IE10.
My page shows the same as yours.

One thing that the wind pages show is when I had problems with my anemometer in Feb and Apr earlier this year - a few days as blank.

Enjoy,

No. I was not talking about the grey highlighting of row and column headings linked to current cell, yes that is a feature of the script. I'm talking about the royal blue that is the same as when I highlight a block of text on this forum and whether it is seen or not (and what colour is actually seen, blue just happens to be the default on most modern browsers) is a feature of how a browser has been configured, as I said blue shades past selections, not current cell. Test it, move your mouse to a different place and then reload page and move mouse again but in a different direction, perhaps diagonally, then perhaps you will believe me.
