This post is a heads up for others.
I'm using Jacques' (new) Blues template and after a lot of hair pulling, I've managed to get the nivo slider to display realtime webcam screen grabs.

My process for this involved using the command line tool Imagemagic and writing fairly simple batch files ...
1) to scrape the uploaded webcam image off my website (600x400).
2) manipulate the scraped image to fit the nivo slider size (954x200).
3) FTP the image back up to website.

My .bat files all worked when run from the "DOS box" but getting them to run in Taskmanager was another long laborious story. I did manage to get the script to work in Windows 7 taskmanager but not all in Server 2008 taskmanager! After reading and trying suggestions from all over the interwebz, I surrendered and gave up on Windows' Taskmanager and installed Solway's Taskmanager and this work flawlessly!

Also I couldn't get the built in(to CMD) FTP to work with my FTP host (connection closed by host error, always) so I installed NcFTP (runs from the command line), which also work flawlessly.

So the moral of the story if you have any trouble with these two Microsoft pieces of crap, give up and install 3rd party apps that work

Hello Bob,

I'm using the same template but can't figure out how to replace the stock photos with images of my own for the Nivo slider.

I appreciate any guidance you can lend.

Bob, I stopped many years ago using Microsoft built-in crap - then, I was actively using JP Software 4DOS - now, I am actively using JP Software Take Command an incredibly powerful CMD replacement which takes care of all batch-related operations, including FTP uploading.

For all my scheduling jobs, again I do not rely on Microsoft built-in crap - I am using Splinterware Software Solutions powerful and very reliable System Scheduler.

Unfortunately for some, both software are shareware ... but worth every dollars I have spent for them.

It's just a matter of uploading and overwriting the images to you web site.
images/header.jpg, images/header1.jpg and images/header.jpg.

Jacques the author explained it somewhere better.
