Andrew, have a look at this script by DAJ (David Jamieson): WeatherConsole - when released, it has been a good learning experience for me.

Do not expect to understand everything at one... ...start by looking at the source code, playing with it, adding stuff to it, and, when comfortable with what you have done and learned, then apply the code (and your knowledge of it) to the main (index.htm) template to produce a near-real-time weather page.

I should have looked harder before posting. Just 2 topics down from my question is a thread by a very nice man called Synewave. Full instructions making the site do what I want. Got the wind gust and speed working so far. I think its time I found an online HTML primer, so I have some idea what I'm doing

But it raises another question (doesn't it allways?) , the timing of realtime.txt and normal Cumulus update. I'm using a WH1080 clone, which send data to the console every 48 seconds, so I have set realtime.txt and data on page update to 60 seconds. I think that any less than that would be a waste of bandwidth. I've set the normal Cumulus update to 5 minutes, because its now only updating the graphs on the trends page.

Does that make sense?

None the less, IF you are happy all current data is being handled via realtime.txt, then your other more 'static' uploads could be just once per day ! (To populate things like Sun / moon rise, day length, etc.)
