Steve, first off let me say what a fine piece of software you have created.

I am having a problem getting Cumulus to connect to my webspace.

I successfully created my webspace using FileZilla and created a folder called weather. I was also successful in transferring all of the required files and folders to the weather folder. I've configured the Internet settings in Cumulus but I'm unable to transfer data manually (I want to do it manually before I have Cumulus do it automatically). The Host name, port, directory, username and password are all correct and have been verified within the Cumulus.ini file.

Under web settings nothing is checked yet and the interval is 5 mins and the realtime interval is 30 secs. I assume nothing should be checked until I want to auto update. I have also tried active FTP mode without success. Every time I do a web update I get a FTP Connect Timeout Error, Error Code = 11004.
I am at a loss as to why this is occurring as I can log in fine using FileZilla and can view the directory structure of my webpage. If it's any help the website is www3.sympatico.ca/cliffpenn/weather. In addition, the htm files in the Cumulus\web folder are being updated as well as realtime.txt in the Cumulus folder. Using FTP logging shows the same error code and also another line with ! HighLevelAsync 0.

I'm sure it's something very simple I've overlooked and any help is appreciated.

Sorry, but if you've tried active mode, and you're sure your details are correct, then I can't think of anything else to try. If you want to send me your ftp details by private message, I can try from here.

Could be a firewall issue.

Can't see it being a firewall issue if Filezilla uploaded the files OK and they are there I checked.

It is more likely an incorrect setting of some kind in the Internet Settings, like the Directory setting. When you do a manual update does anything appear in the window prior to getting the error like "logging into ......."?

The only thing that appears in the FTP Progress window is "Connection Timeout". It appears that there isn't even a login attempt.

I was in the process of sending you a PM with my FTP details when I decided to change the Host Name in Cumulus. I had set it to www3.sympatico.ca/cliffpenn thinking that I had to set it to my webpage.

When I changed it to just www3.sympatico.ca it worked fine. It's always the simple things that trip you up

Thanks everyone for your input. Now on to modify the webpage.

Everything is working great. I have a question regarding changing the "content" on my webpage. I assume that the heading and the welcome information is stored in the index.htm file. Can I modify this file in the Cumulus folder and then upload it to my website?

Currently the heading shows as c a m p b e l l f o r d w e a t h e r

It is all in lower case with spaces between the letters. The index file shows Campbellford weather. How do I change it to display correctly on the website?

The website also shows Welcome to .
It also shows I'm using a Davis Vantage Pro 2 when in fact I'm using a Davis Vantage Vue.

I've modified the index to make the changes and con view it correctly in IE locally. I've replaced the file on the website but it continues to show the incorrect information.

If you want to modify the content of the supplied pages, you need to edit the 'templates'. See http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Customised_templates

If you want to modify the appearance of the modified pages, you need edit the style sheet (weatherstyle.css). For example, to stop the lower case translation that you mention, see http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#I.27m_using_the_supplied_web_pages.2C_and_get_lower_case_in_places_where_I_want_upper_case

See 'description' in the station settings.

See 'station model' in the display settings.

Steve, thanks for the quick reply and pointing me in the right direction.
I had searched for an hour through the forum using keywords like heading and font without success. Even checked the help file but didn't think to check the WIKI.

The FAQ, the Wiki, and the help file are the first places to look. Searching on the forum can be difficult for 'old' information.
