prob. with date format

Post by akshay »

HI all,

We have cumulus installed on multiple stations. While in the process of transferring data from cumulus monthly.txt file , i just noticed different date format in 2 month files from 2 different sites.

here the records from two files:

station A: 11-04-10,21:40,12,3,65,5,8,8,5,11,2,36,0,0,0,0,966,8,92,7,16,7,53,6,8,11,6,12,3

station B: 12/04/10,14:50,21.1,46,8.4,2.1,3.6,26,0.0,0.0,1017.88,0.3,26.4,38,1.3,21.1,21.1

could you please suggest about the reason for this difference between "-" and "/" in date.
Also we can notice that in the file from station A we have "," instead of "." this causes prob when we try to get the data in the DB.
we need the format to be consistent very urgently..

please help

kind regards
Akshay

You need to have the same system settings on each PC, in that case.
station A: 11-04-10,21:40,12,3,65,5,8,8,5,11,2,36,0,0,0,0,966,8,92,7,16,7,53,6,8,11,6,12,3
In this one, you have the date format set to dd-mm-yy, and you have the decimal separator and the list seperator both set to comma. This can never work.
station B: 12/04/10,14:50,21.1,46,8.4,2.1,3.6,26,0.0,0.0,1017.88,0.3,26.4,38,1.3,21.1,21.1
In this one you have the date format set to dd/mm/yy.

You need to decide what formats you want to use... and use them.
