yesterday's values in recent extremes

Post by laurent07 »

Hi,
I moved by mistake the realtime.txt file out of the Cumulus folder on my PC and I put it back, but now I don't get any values for yesterday's recent extremes. What should I do please?
Thanks. :bash:

Moving the realtime.txt file wouldn't have caused that, Cumulus just recreates it every time, it doesn't read it. The usual cause of having no 'yesterday' values is a "failed rollover", or sometimes a problem reading the yesterday.ini file due to date format problems. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, with your today.ini and yesterday.ini files, I'll take a look.

It looks like you allowed your PC to sleep:

11/01/2011 22:54:00.444 : Writing todayfile, LastUpdateTime = 11/01/2011 22:54:00 raindaystart = 16,1000003814697
11/01/2011 22:55:00.072 : Writing todayfile, LastUpdateTime = 11/01/2011 22:55:00 raindaystart = 16,1000003814697
12/01/2011 03:55:59.549 : 03:55:59 FTP Error: FTP component not connected
12/01/2011 03:56:09.439 : Writing todayfile, LastUpdateTime = 12/01/2011 03:56:03 raindaystart = 16,1000003814697
12/01/2011 03:56:09.495 : Writing todayfile, LastUpdateTime = 12/01/2011 03:56:03 raindaystart = 16,1000003814697

So Cumulus wasn't running at midnight and couldn't do the rollover. You can't allow your PC to sleep while Cumulus is running.

ok then I should shut it down manually when I'm not at home? I'm inquiring on setting some kind of data logger or anything that could let me update everytime the pc is sleeping.
Thanks anyway, I'm gathering a lot of information at the moment since I've using Cumulus and my weather station for only a few days.

Yes, that's best (or don't let your PC sleep while it's gathering data). There's a setting mentioned in the FAQ which will attempt to do it automatically, but it's not guaranteed.
