I've just been searching for an electronic component totally unrelated to this subject and stumbled across a fascinating website featuring a DIY weather station http://www.boxford-software.com/resourc ... tation.php
Not sure if it's been listed before, if sorry for the duplication.

Re: Interesting PIC based home built station
Well, I haven't seen it before It looks very interesting. I've only had a quick scan through as yet but will read through it later. I've always wanted to build my own automatic weather station but never found suitable components available in the past. If I ever have the time I would love to make my own. Of course, I couldn't sell it using my own name as there is already a well known AWS manufacturer of that name viz. Davis. AFAIK I am not related to the proprietor of that company

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

It looks like it comes from Legoland Great Find! I don't think I will ever have the time to spend building one.

Legoland, LOL. I don't think I'll ever have time to read through that awful long index page! Why do people put webpages up like that?nking wrote:It looks like it comes from Legoland Great Find! I don't think I will ever have the time to spend building one.

For those of a certain age, think not Lego, but logo - of a certain corn flakes carton.

I immediately thought .
No doubt it would have a suitable Scandinavian name, like "Precipitat", "Søla", or "Klimat". And no doubt I'd buy one (and find it had a part missing when I got it home...)

Re: Interesting PIC based home built station
When I first saw it I thought the whole thing was a load of rubbish but on further reading found that there was an actual wireless weather station in there. Then I thought there were louvres like a Stevenson Screen but found they were solid and just decoration. Very strange - looks like someone is trying to recover their childhood!
