Davis wired/wireless ISS PCBs difference?

Post by jules »

I have both wireless and wired VP2 consoles, but only a wireless ISS. This has a phone-type RJ11 socket, marked COMMS, although the PCB is for the wireless unit. I connected the wired console and this wireless ISS together with 4-core phone cable, RJ11 plugs on each end, and expected to see the console display the data, but nothing happened. Is this setup impossible, or am I missing something? The wired ISS PCB is available (in the US) as a spare part, and its photo shows it has a battery connector and antenna connector, although for a wired system which won't use these parts. Are these two PCBs essentially the same? If so, can I adapt my current wireless ISS to connect with cable to my wired console? Thanks for any info.
I also need a used wired ISS PCB, or complete ISS if one available, and can do some soldering if necessary. Thanks.
