Hi All,

I just purchased a Bios Weather BW976 from Jaycar. Reduced to only $129. Suits my basic requirements with the ability to upload data to a computer.

The staff stated that the price was lowered due to it being an older model. The problem is that the manufacturers in Canada only provide software for Windows XP and have no plans for a software upgrade. Apparently even Vista deletes some of the drivers so my eventual computer upgrade from XP to Seven will render the unit partially useless.

The FAQ section makes no mention of this hardware. Is there a possibility that Cumulus will (or can be made to) work on it.

Failing that, any recommendations for a cheap unit that will work with Windows Seven. I live in a bushfire prone area and am particularly interested in wind speed and direction.

I'd need the protocol for the unit, but in any case it will/would be quite some time before I could add support for it.

The Fine Offset stations are cheap and work with Cumulus and Windows 7.
