I just got myself a weather station, model WS1093, here in New Zealand and downloaded Cumulus 2. I must say it looks great, like the gauges.

I do notice that Cumulus 2 does a better forcast then version 1, for example, verison 1 says settled fine, but ver 2 gives a more a more realistic forcast, fine with possible showers later, which reflects how it is outside now. The rain stats on Cumulus 2 are out of wack, same as if you go to see the amount of rain in a graph, the numbers are negitive and says something like -19611.30 mm as total rain fall.

I love the gauges where you go into the view option at the top of the screen, very nice. What is missing is the indoor temp and indoor hum, and wonder if this setup could be end up being the main screen, as it's a lot better seeing gauges then a load of figures. I would love to see the figures as an option to the gauges rather then the other way around.

Cumulus 2 uses exactly the same algorithm as Cumulus 1, so something must be slightly different when you run C2. It's possible that the calculation of average wind direction or barometer trend give very slightly different results.

You can edit the rain totals in the database, the very first entry may well have a silly figure. You may have more than one error, it depends on whether you imported your C1 data or not.

I deleted Cumulus 2, even though I love the interface a lot more then version 1, I cannot see anything to edit the files with as all the files are all dll files.

There are other figures out of wack also. Tried deleting Cumulus 2, reinstalling it and still figures way out and cannot edit anything as there appears to be no log files, still all dll files.

To me this is useless till the full version comes out, and hopefully these problems will be gone. I know it's only an Alpha version, but for me to full of bugs yet to be accurate enough to use.

Looking forward to the full working, bug free version. Great job, keep it up. But a good suggestion, if I may, have the gauges as default view. I like the gauges and thermometer like gauges, but would prefer an option to have these as a default view.

Cumulus 2 does not use text files to store it's data. It is all database driven. You can edit database entries within Cumulus 2.

However, I think for now you would be best to wait until C2 is in a more complete format.

Edit-Data-Select Date works for me.

Did you replace the C2 database? This resides in C:\Documents&Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Cumulus. Replace the database with the empty one Steve has made available on the C2 forum.

It's not useless at all. That's a harsh statement. C2 gets its data from C1 so if it's bad it's because your C1 data is bad.

The current build works fine for me and runs 24/7. It's an Alpha build but it's stability cannot be questioned. Criticising a free alpha version and then asking for improvements is not the best way to see them implemented.

Edit the error out. It's probably the very first line.

On the other hand, you have some high and low dates from several days ago, so that doesn't fit what you've just said regarding starting from a blank database and not importing.

Yes I choose not to import, but seems to automatically do it anyway.

No, it doesn't do that.

You copied the blank database to the correct place, while the program was stopped? There is a file on your desktop called import.log, please could you attach it here?

Looked in the database and that odd rain figure appears nowhere in my data?

There is no odd figures in there.

yet I don't have this problem with Cumulus 1?

The Trace log is the only log on my Desktop, because I asked it not to do an import, yet looking at the database the data from cumulus 1 ended up in there, yet did not produce an import log on my desktop.

I could try again using the blank database and this time if it asks for an import will except. Maybe the will write an import log?

Maybe the data just came from the logger.

The totals you are seeing which are wrong are calculated by summing the 'rain' column in the database, so at least one of your database entries must have a negative value.
