New version (v2.0) available in Market!

After/before upgrade you MUST download new version of realtime.xml file.
You need to overwrite the existing realtime.xml with this new one in Cumulus!

Hi Joe...

The new version of Cumulus Realtime uploaded automatically to my Droid X overnight and was working fine all day today. A short while ago I looked at the forum and noted that a new realtime.xml needed to be added. I overwrote the old version with the one I downloaded and now I have no data at all showing on the Droid. It's "downloading and refreshing data" but all I have are dashes - not data. For the record, I have not changed the realtime.xml URL. Nor have I changed its location. Not locally, not online.

I put the old realtime.xml back in place and data is now showing up on the Droid.

Thanks for your help.

EDIT: Also, I clicked on your 'donate' link and PayPal came up with a "Sorry — your last action could not be completed" error page.

It's unfortunate that you've chosen to call your app "Cumulus Realtime", when I already have two things (one too many!) called that, though mine aren't for the Android, obviously.

I have just installed version 2.0 and have the same problem. Can anyone point me to a copy of the old realtime.xml and I will give it a try.

If anyone has what seems to be a problem with the xml file .. make sure you have your location filled out within Cumulus.

The android app doesn't seem to do any error checking on a blank location, and just fills out "-"s for all of the information if location is empty. Hope this saves someone else the time it took me to figure this out.

Mine has dashes no info loaded - wonder if its because i called it

I was really thrilled with the new version of the app, which is now actually a gadget, if I'm using the terms correctly. It updated automatically on my phone. I went out to the market to see if I could donate, and saw the blurb on updating the xml file. The link was broken, so I came here. Guess I won't worry about it - seems to be working fine with the old xml.

Works very well on my brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 !

Q - If i set it to update, say every minute ! how much data (kb etc ) does it use, just wondered how much of my allowance would be used up.

Possible change request - compass points NW and NE are fine, can you turn around SE and SW as they appear sort of back to front ?

Are animations possibley with these gadgets/apps ? - how about raingauge filling up. therm going up and down etc

Anyway, dam good effort !

I like it too. Couple of issues with it - the widget is too big for the amount of info shown, and the rainfall values at the bottom of 'Today' are reversed in relation to the labels.

I don't get a red bug to show where the wind direction is! Swizz!

Apart from that it's fine, my first 24 hours of data isn't quite in yet so maybe that lot will show up later too!

Nice app - keep it coming!

UPDATE: the other data was there, but I had to swipe the screen across to find it! :clap:

However still no red bug for wind direction! I'll be really happy when that bit works as it should too!

I get the red wind direction indicator just fine.
I see your average wind speed shows zero, so no direction can be assigned. Are you still lacking the 'bug' with average speeds other than zero?

Not sure whether the developer still has any interest - I mentioned the rainfall label bug to him months ago.
