Best way to automate timelapse creation

Post by Ben1551 »

Hello I have got myself an ip camera recently and i was wondering if there was a better way to make timelapses. For the moment i am just using yawcams images to movie function.
Here is a link to the lapses https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... hMI-hhs854
And also a link to the camera http://flyingchopservers.co.uk/Ipcamera/

I use iptimelapse - http://www.sebectec.com/ipcam/ - it automates the timelapses once and hour and every 24 hours, it also overlays the weather text.

My example at http://weather.casa.ucl.ac.uk/webcam.htm

I went down the iptimelapse route after trying various other solutions, i finally found one that just kind of works.

I agree with the above as well.
But I actually created my own processes and scripts to do what I do.
No dedicated software used....

+1 on Sebectec.

A lot of great options for videos to the web and saving/organizing on your computer.

anyone really. I have had a play with Sebectec and it looks great, but doesn't let you embed a live feed into a website - pity

I use it to upload and autorefresh every 5 seconds - I find it better than a real live feed for picking up cloud movement - see the webcam on weather.casa.ucl.ac.uk

Various live feeds I tired were too much hassle with cross browser comparability, so I went with the simple option.

I also use IPTimlapse.

I did not want to go through the hassle or band width issues to live feed.
Mine updates the still image every 5 minutes, and the time lapse takes a frame every 5 seconds.
Still trying to get the video in my web page correctly, puts the controls on top of the image.
