Streaming Webcam/Data to YouTube Live

Postby Smithee » Sun Jan 10, 2016 2:05 pm

Thought people here might be interested - YouTube now allows a live stream, so i have been trying out an experimental live cam (Logitech 930e) with a data overlay powered by Cumulus:

The stream is 720p, so you may need to change the settings to view the full quality stream. I could go up to 1080p but it puts quite a hit on the CPU. I'll do a blog post on it sometime this week with more details...

I didn't know YouTube allowed that, thanks.

As mentioned blog post on it for anyone interested:

http://www.digitalurban.org/2016/01/streaming-urban-data-youtube-live.html

We opted for xsplit - it streams 720p for free and 1080 with a small watermark - it was remarkably easy to set up once we sorted out the encoder...
