Problem:
It takes about 15-20 seconds for the first script to get an image from the camera and to save it on the serwer so I need to delay the start of the second script about 15-20 seconds in order the NEWEST image was overlaid with weather data. I tried tu use "sleep($seconds)" function but without success (I'm not expert in PHP).
Can someone help me with this?
It took me some time (I'm relatively old man)to understand how to implement PHP "sllep()" function but I DID IT, so in this matter help is not needed anymore.

Piotr

Sorry couldn't have helped, all my script save to local with a separate script uploading the latest picture to server. This way I have minimal wait time between shots.
Takes 1 to 3 seconds to download off camera, put the overlay on and save to local.

I use this method to capture lightening as well.
After hours I run a script to monitor the ftp save location, if the camera detects motion and saves a picture, the script kicks in and starts a 1 hour timer taking a shot every 4 seconds...

Thanks Chris for showing willingness to help. My first problem is the speed of internet connection. I'm not going to tell the details because I don't want you to die from laughing.
I think it is enough to say that to load ~200kB picture from camera to server takes ~17 seconds. This is the reality in a small village "in bushes" I'm living in. I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to justify the way I have chosen to show my camera on my website. And my second problem is just the lack of knowledge (html, PHP etc). And here there is nothing you can do except to learn (or to ask for help  ).

Best Regards,
Piotr

Back to topic. The bottom pic will display a live picture, so for you lot in the UK, it will most likely be dark hahaha. 9.5hrs+GMT. This is a 960x720 picture at 20% jpeg image quality on Yawcam. I find at this lower resolution that it captures lightning much better than higher quality (where the frame rate has to go slower). The 20% enables quicker loading of the time lapse feature and can load 720, 1min photos with 30Mb (each pic about 30kb). I just converted an unused Android cell phone to a Web Cam using the following link: http://lifehacker.com/build-a-wi-fi-web ... =pulsenews. I then made it my Weather Cam. Seems to work well (up for about a week). Links: http://68.99.164.118:8080/shot.jpg (change shot.jpg to jsfs.html for video) and http://computerwright.com/weather/index.htm. Can't show a display like the previous one, (all I can say about that is, "WOW" and "AWESOME", but the trees in the background do give a pretty display in the fall.

Currently a simple sky facing camera. Been recording images and time-lapse for a while so need to look at options for publishing them.
