Hi all,

After a while with no weather station due to a house shift - and even longer without a webcam - it's great to have 41south.net.nz back on line

The webcam looks south east towards the Wellington harbor entrance. The lights seen in night time shots will be the light houses and marker buoys at the harbor entrance. The web pages and webcam still have a way to go but it's nice to be back on the web.
The camera is an HD Logitech C510 capturing every 30sec at the moment in 800x600

Cheers
Colin

And another webcam. Logitech S5500 and WebcamXP with a 60 second refresh looking west.

Updated Webcam page – now includes “cookie” drop to retain language choice for returning viewers. The animated inset image for sunrise, day, sunset, and night examples is aimed at the international viewer that drops by at my local night time to give an example of local daylight.

Not sure if I have posted this before.

Soon to be upgraded from a USB no brand camera out the window to a cheap "security" camera fed into the 2nd video port of my capture card.

Running Webcamxp in the background, but Windows IIS as a server.

Wow very nice weather camera shots; always wanted to visit that area and I did promise my wife a trip there someday in the future. Here is my web camera shots as posted to Weatherunderground.

I keep adding and subtracting data from the composite view. I did change the camera this past year; but still not totally happy with the camera type. This is a JPG file which is really a composite of numerous data insertions, icons, other JPGs put together every 5 minutes for upload. Not really too resource intensive.

Pete,

Can I ask why a weather webcam shows the ground in 2/3 of its image? Isn't the whole point to show visitors the weather? Why not point it upwards more with just 1/3 of the image showing the ground for some scale and perspective?

Sorry but it's more like a streetcam than weather cam. :?
