Light Sensor Lost Contact - WH3081

Post by glen.day »

Steve,

I'm currently using 1.9.1 beta 969 and noticed that my UV/Light sensor lost connection, while this happened it seems as if Cumulus retained the readings from the last time this sensor was online.

Should this happen? Should a error appear advising that console has lost connection? Maybe this is normal behaviour?

Can you please clarify this.

Thanks
Glen

That's the way Cumulus works, with all data. It has no 'null/error' values, so the only option is to continue displaying and logging the last data it received. It just ignores bad data.

Possibly, but I don't understand how the solar sensor can lose contact and not the other sensors. Does the solar sensor have a separate transmitter? What do you do when the solar sensor loses contact?

Thanks Steve,

No the solar unit doesn't have an additional sender unit, I simply just wait about 5 minutes and readings are displayed again.

When it happens (which doesn't happen often - I have only seen it happen once this week) all other data is displayed correctly, I'm not sure why only the UV/Light sensor disconnects and all other sensors function correctly.

I think that if it doesn't happen very often and only lasts a few minutes, then the best thing for Cumulus to do is what it does now.
