 Post subject: Data Download box says not responding after the address has.

Hello Steve & all,
I have noticed that in this latest build 975, that when I start up my PC in the morning on both my Desktop PC running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit with 2.25GB of Ram and on my Laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with 4GB of Ram.

I have Noticed that after it has read the address data from the Weather Console on the Data Box it says not responding and every thing on the desktop freezes for about 5 -10 seconds then after that Cumulus seems to run normal and the Data box goes away.

Is anyone else seeing this? Many Thanks for any Help/Information.

If I click on the progress window, or move to another application and then back again, then yes, the progress window will say 'not responding', because it's not processing mouse click events (it used to), but it doesn't stop it all working correctly for me and finishing the download.

Thank you for the reply to my message, Yes it is all working correctly for me and finishing the download OK. But I thought I would just ask to see if this is normal.

Hi Steve,
I have noticed that it does it even though I have not moved the mouse or have not touched the computer. I have noticed that it does it just after it moves the Cumulus frame automatically.

And that was the only program that was running on the Desktop.

I mean the Cumulus program moves a bit on the desktop like it is refreshing it self.

I can also confirm what Michael reports about release 675. My PC is always switched off at night: when I restart Cumulus it downloads the 'Address' information and then the green progress bar uploads to around 35% (this figure varies between about 32% and 39%) then appears to stop downloading. After a second or so the Cumulus screen 'shakes' slightly and the download ends with no download increase indicated by the green progress bar. At first I was unsure whether all the stored console data had been transferred to Cumulus but it always has. This is confirmed by no gaps in either the graphs data or that within the Cumulus files. It's not really a problem now that I know all stored data does successfully transfer but at first it was a little worrying.

I am using Windows 7.

It happens because I'm now only processing Windows 'Paint' messages during download and processing, because I thought that would be enough, just to keep the UI updated. But it seems not to be the case.

Thank you Steve, the problem I was having in 975 looks like it is fixed in the new version 976.
