Not sure why you have got realtime.txt listed in the files tab with process, realtime and ftp ticked? It is not needed as you already have realtime.txt ticked on the sites/options tab.

It may be causing a conflict, it may be working intermittently, Steve perhaps can clarify.

When i dont have it ticked in files it wont work at all

That's because you haven't configured the ftp directory correctly.

What do you mean? it goes in the home dir so it should be

realtime.txt and thats confirmed cause its on my website its just that when i untick it in the files tab my realtime.txt wont upload at all.

Also i had my realtime data successfully upload per 5 seconds but now it is 10 seconds im not sure why.

Antonio, we are questioning how you have a DIRECTORY called ballinanswweather.com ?

Something isn't right

It's not unreasonable to have a directory like that if your ftp account allows you access to multiple domains - my web space is set up the same way. But the point I was trying to get over is that if just 'realtime.txt' as a remote file is correct, then 'ballinanswweather.com' as the ftp directory cannot be correct, as then Cumulus would try to upload the realtime.txt file to 'ballinanswweather.com/realtime.txt', which is not the same thing as just 'realtime.txt' and this is the reason the built-in realtime.txt upload isn't working.

If 'realtime.txt' on its own is correct, then the ftp directory needs to be blank, and then it's a reasonable bet that the built-in realtime.txt upload will work. I would guess that the ftp login has a 'home' already inside the ballinanswweather.com, so it's not needed on the path.

Your home directory is going to be something like / , /htdocs or /public_html it is not the the domain name of the web site.

From the look of the File Manager, yes the directory path is in blue. I would also check this with your web space provider, because sometimes these fancy File Managers give a totally wrong directory path in FTP terms because they are "trying" to make it "user friendly" for their Users.

For instance the File Manager from Cpanel on one of my sites would have me believe the path to the home directory is /home/domain name/public_html wheres the actual directory when using an FTP client like Filezilla is /public_html/.

You may also find there is an FAQ on your Web Space providers site that tells you how to access your "root" directory on your site in an FTP client.

I'd just connect a decent FTP client (Filezilla is a reasonable GUI version) and look at that. You should then be able see the 'real' paths.

Then that is your remote directory to use in Cumulus "/". The FTP login is taking you to directly to the root folder for your site. The management GUI is showing you something else. That is why your files dialogue works, as it does not specify a folder - defaults to "/".
