How To Properly Update For Each Beta

Post by Buford T. Justice »

I am still using Cumulus 1.9.2. Do I just let the installer install over the current version or do I need to do some sort of a backup?

Both. As it says in the readme.txt:

Upgrading:

If you are upgrading from a previous version, you can install
this version over the top of these (just run the setup.exe).
Your data files will be saved (you should take backups
before upgrading to be safe).

An upgrade doesn't change or lose any data or settings. You should
of course check everything after the upgrade to make sure all is
still as it was.

I didn't see a readme.txt listed; just the .exe to install the beta. Thanks for the clarification.

The install exe itself displays the readme.txt as part of the install process, as well as leaving it in the Cumulus folder for you to read again later.

Cool, but it might be a good idea to perhaps have a sticky with the upgrade instructions here in the BETA forum just to be safe.
