Temperature Range Issue

Post by Buford T. Justice »

I was on my Cumulus webpage and noticed this...

Code: Select all

High Temperature 23.5 °F at 07:57
Low Temperature 21.6 °F at 05:13
Temperature Range 2.0 °F
Shouldn't that say 1.9 °F instead?

It happens rarely when there is a 0.1 °F difference. I am not sure what is causing it.

Low Temperature 21.6 °F at 05:13
Temperature Range 2.7 °F

Caused by rounding to 1dp for display. The station measures in degrees C, so temps in F are approximate.

23.5F is actually a station reading of -4.7C, so it's actually 23.54F.
21.6F is actually a station reading of -5.8C, so it's actually 21.56F

23.54-21.56=1.98, which rounds to 2.0F

We poor Americans and that damned Imperial system we got from England which we still use, lol. Thanks for the explanation.
