FTP error littledraytonweather.net16.net
This site has worked since 2010 using “Cute” as my FTP using the latest Cumulus software.
When I log on to my site in Cute, it shows a page which contains three items:
Public-html 4.00KB File folder
.ftp quota 13 bytes file
DO NOT UPLOAD HERE 0 bytes file
All my weather files are uploaded to the file folder Public_html and Cumulus updates them without any problem.
I have put these two files into Internet configuration files: -
Local filename C:\Cumulus\web\realtimegaugesT.txt
In remote: <littledraytonweather.net16.net_public-html>/realtimegauges.txt
In local C:\Cumulus\web\gauges-ssT.htm
In remote: <littledraytonweather.net16.net_public-html>/gauges-ss.htm
And ticked the relevant boxes.
When I click Web update in Cumulus it attempts to load the remote file and I get the ftp error and also the second remote file brings up this error.
Web update then states “Changing directory to Public_html and loads all my weather station files.
It would appear that the two remote files are attempting to upload to the first page on my website rather than in the Public_html directory. This page has no name just a / at the top.
I’ve tried to put “home” for the website root but still get the same error. Anyone any ideas on how to correct this?

If Public_html works OK for the ftp directory for uploading the normal Cumulus files, then you need to use that as the directory for the other files as well, i.e:

Public_html/realtimegauges.txt
Public_html/gaues-ss.htm

The only problem with that is that you've mentioned Public_html and Public-html, which are not the same, so you need to use whichever is correct.

Dear Steve,
Many thanks for your quick reply. Sorry about the typing error in my post.

I have carefully checked my entries and have copied the local and remote files here:-

C:\Cumulus\web\realtimegaugesT.txt

<littledraytonweather.net16.net_public_html>/realtimegauges.txt

C:\Cumulus\web\gauges-ssT.htm

<littledraytonweather.net16.net_public_html>/gauges-ss.htm

I have not filled in the binary box for either

Cumulus web update still starts by trying to load the files above and gives the ftp error before it changes directory to public_html

This is so strange as all my other files load after it changes directory to public_html

I'm tearing my hair out here so any suggestions would save my sanity.
Best wishes,

Arthur

I don't understand what that is - what are the angle brackets for? Have you tried the settings I suggested (with whatever is actually the correct folder - my guess would be public_html, all in lower case)? i.e.:

public_html/realtimegauges.txt
and
public_html/gaues-ss.htm

Dear Steve,
Many, many thanks, both files are now uploaded into public_html.
Unfortunately gauges-ss is not shown, on the web page only now:: gauges::today::yesterday etc
However you have spent quite enough time with this old dodder, so I'll have to try and fugure this out myself.
Thanks for all your help,

Arthur

Thanks for all your help,

Arthur, you will have to manually edit all the menu links in the xxxxxT.htm template files to point to gauges-ss.htm rather than gauges.htm

Unrelelated, but you have a HTML syntax error at line 76 - a script tag that just contains other script tags. The boxover script isn't required on the SteelSeries gauge anyway?

But your problem is that the realtimegauges text file does not contain a forecast string, it is blank, the temperature units value, wind bearing from/to are also all blank. So you need to look for problems in your realtimegauges text template file.

Hello there, I have now found the problem but what is the string for forecast?

Will

Good :-). I was going to say that the template I supply in the zip file has the correct web tags in it.

Really! I had to put a different tag in to work witch was <#forecast> not <#forecastenc>

Ah, that means you are running an old version of Cumulus - time to upgrade ;)
