Steve
As Linux isn't working at present I thought I would try it on my existing Win 7 weather 'puter that runs two copies of Cumulus already. I copied over the data and web folders, plus the Cumulus.ini from one installation and tried MX.
I get the following error (diag file attached)...
System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Int32 System.Environment.get_CurrentManagedThreadId()'.

Re: Fails to start on Windows 7 - with FO - System.MissingMe
Unfortunately I can't decode that stack trace now as I've been trying to resolve the Linux issue and have recompiled (should have saved the map!). I have no idea what the problem is, most of the problems being reported don't occur on my system - it's very frustrating. I think you'll need to try it again when I make the next build available.

No problem, is there a minimum .Net framework requirement for Windows?

That would have been a useful thing for me to mention, yes - 4.5.

That will probably be it then, I'm away from the system now, I'll check later....

Maybe if you can get a start up test for the installed framework version to run before it fails (don't know if that is possible), you may save yourself some support effort in the future.

Good idea.
I've updated the download, if it still crashes I should be able to decode the stack trace.
