what am i missing

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

what am i missing

Post by bruce45 »

have tried a few time with each build but can never get anything to show on the interface. only shows dashes.
it looks like its connecting to the station as the real time file is updating.
the mxdiags shows
Error connecting ftp - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it [fe80::cd3f:5:b428:293%4]:21

then

Error uploading realtime.txt to realtime.txt : No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it [fe80::cd3f:5:b428:293%4]:21

full file attached

Do you perhaps have firewall and/or anti-virus issues?

It's a bit odd that it's using IPv6 for that FTP connection. I don't know whether that's a problem with MX or something to do with the way your system is configured. It may be related to the issue of not seeing any data in the browser.

Look at the properties for your network adapter. I seem to have turned it off on mine, but I can't remember when I did it or why. I don't think you should have to turn it off for Cumulus, perhaps there's something I need to do in the code. To be honest I don't really understand how and when IPv6 can be used at the moment. You could try disabling it to see if that gets you anywhere.

ipv6 "shouldn't" be a problem for CMX, it is turned on on my system with Win7 and I am having no problems connecting... Unless there is a big change from Win7 to Win 8.1.

just a thought, shot in the dark, of chance clasping at straws, the list could go on but could it be a problem with java? don't no that much about it so have no idea about changing anything in it other than the updates.

Not Java, but JavaScript. It's required for the interface to work. Do you get any error messages in the developer console of your browser?

Indeed it should. How did you manage to get it to do that?
