Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Ach so, ein Test mit dem CumulusMX Start Stop Script zeigte:
The following devices are in Read Only mode which is not good.
tmpfs /sys/fs/cgroup tmpfs ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,mode=755 0 0
Und das Komma bei >Dienstag, 24.1.17<

Hello Dieter
I would say, lets continue speaking in english to include also others and also Steve (if he is interested)

And lets fix it step by step.
First of all, you mentioned that the values form Lat and Long are only accepted double digits. you home for example is 51 and 9.
After adding 50.34 cumulus is writing 0 into the ini file

I never touched my settings file for month now so I am not sure if I am up to date.
In the Webbrowser ---> http://192.168.193.6:9999/stationsettings.html in Location - I have 3 lines
Latidude
Degrees: 50
Minutes: 59
Seconds: 2

Longitude
Degrees: 9
Minutes: 49
Seconds: 36

these are my values in the Webbrowsers and they result in the Cumulux.ini as

Latitude=50.9838888888889
Longitude=9.82694444444444
LatTxt=N 50° 59' 02"
LonTxt=E 09° 49' 37"

As you can see, there is indeed a discrepancy and I have no Idea how this can happen.
I am not sure, because of the long time ago, But maybe I stopped CumulusMX and inserted the values directly into the ini. (but while cumulus was stopped)
Maybe this will help you to fix it ....insert it manually into the ini file while Cumulus is stopped. Use as much numbers as I used and it should work.
I checked here: http://www.mapcoordinates.net/en and I found out, the values in the Cumulus.ini are the correct values and not the one showing in the Management Interface

but to be 100% sure, if you run cumulusmx.sh -s what are your locales and Mono version ?
Here Iam having:
Mono Version: Mono JIT compiler version 4.0.5 (Stable 4.0.5.1/1d8d582 Thu Nov 12 12:22:41 UTC 2015)
System Locale: de_DE.UTF-8 - CumulusMX Language: German

What must I do? (I am Linux Beginner)

Dieter
This can be ignored and should normally not being displayed.
Can you please insert this command and send me the result ?
this command will check if there are any Read only mounted filesystems beside the tmpfs but for any reason, the below command is showing it but should be ignored.

grep --color=always "\sro[\s,]" /proc/mounts | grep -v ':' | grep -v "tmpfs"

Hello Jan!
My Mono-Version is:
Mono JIT compiler version 3.2.8 (Debian 3.2.8+dfsg-10)
System Locale: de_DE.UTF-8 - CumulusMX Language: German
CumulusMX Version: Cumulus MX v.3.0.0 build 3042

I would like to switch to Mono version 4.0.5.1. How should I do that? I have unfortunately found no working guide.

Hello Dieter - Google is your friend --> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3376 ... on-of-mono

But this will not solve your problem. I am not really sure, but I think mono does have a problem to convert this long/Lat values when the language is german. So I remember, I gave up, stopped CumulusMX and inserted the correct values directly into Cumulus.ini.
Once I started Cumulus and checked the values in the gui, there was a discrepancy but the values in the ini file are still correct.
Please confirm if this is also correct in your case......

Dieter, ./cumulusmx.sh -n is starting a second program called cumulusnow.sh
you can call this programm directly from cumulusmx.sh -n or also as a standalone program with ./cumulusnow.sh or in your case /home/pi/CumulusMX/cumulusnow.sh
This program will display the current weatherstation values a a little bit pimped with colours on the command line,
Some parameters are being retrieved from the file graphconfig.json and I fear, that this file does not exist.
This file looks liek this

{"temp":{"units":"C","decimals":1},"wind":{"units":"km/h","decimals":0},"rain":{"units":"mm","decimals":1},"press":{"units":"hPa","decimals":1},"hum":{"decimals":0},"uv":{"decimals":1}}

If this file does not exist (ls -al /home/pi/CumulusMX/graphconfig.json) , cumulusnow is not able to read any values from it.
I fear, this file does not exist, because of other failures which need to be fixed first.

As far as I remember, when I started with CumulusMX and german language, I modified some of the parameters which made problems with german locale directly in the ini file and not with thr GUI. And I also remember, that making any failure example: inserting a value into the GUI which is not compatible with mono and my locale , broke the Cumulus.ini file) and I need to start with a blank Cumulus.ini again .......but please excuse me....this was a long time ago.....and I am not 100% sure......and after this, I never touched the Settings again :-)

Hello Jan,
First times thank you for your help.
How do I get the file <graphconfig.json>?
Maybe I will install an English version of CumulusMX

Hello Dieter

I fear, that there is only one version of CumulusMX and it is english.
I also think, that the file graphconfig.json (which is not in the installation zip file by default) is being generated when you successfully save the Config the first time.
I would suggest the following (and this is what I have in mind when I installed and set up CumulusMX the first time. I am also sure, all the trouble we have with the german Language is based on Mono and not CumulusMX.
OKay, as far as I remember, there were some setting parameters, when set by the GUI, they destroyed the config.
As far as I remember, every time, when I set some of these parameters form the GUI, I need to restore a plain config. One of these parameters were the Long and Lat settings. So I stopped CumulusMX , opened the config file and insert the LAT and LONG Values directly in the CumulusMX.ini file.
Then I saved the ini file and started CumulusMX and looked how the settings looked like in the GUI. And as you can see, there is indeed a discrepancy between the settings in the GUI and whats in the INI file.....but who cares......

Hello
I would like to thank you again for the help. I am actually satisfied that CumulusMX runs on my Raspberry Pi2. It is a pity that not everything works, but I have to accept.
I'm sure some have gone to the mind but I'm an elderly gentleman (77), where everything takes a bit longer.

Many greetings
Dieter

Many greetings Dieter
that's not true, Dieter ? you are really 77 ?
First of all your english is good, as far as I can see
and ......you are working with a RaspberryPi which is probably a new operating system for you. I assume, you are gorwn with windows ?
So if you have further questions where I can help you without the language barrier (Don't ask about CumulusMX specific things) let me know and we can talk in english per Private Message

Cumulusnow.sh is looking for graphconfig.json in the CumulusMX directory. It is however in the directory CumulusMX / web. After changing the lines
No. 21,22,23,24 in cumulusnow.sh

TEMP = $ (cat $ INSTPATH / web / graphconfig.json | cut -d "\" "-f 6)
WIND = $ (cat $ INSTPATH / web / graphconfig.json | cut -d "\" "-f 14)
RAIN = $ (cat $ INSTPATH / web / graphconfig.json | cut -d "\" "-f 22)
PRESS = $ (cat $ INSTPATH / web / graphconfig.json | cut -d "\" "-f 30)

The display is faultless.

Yes, I changed MX some time ago to create the json graph files in the web directory.

On your web site? You'll need to edit the template files, e.g.indexT.htm etc
