Website Graph pages

Post by Hatkit »

I have updated from Cumulus 1 to Cumulus MX with no problem at all.....except, on my station website at
http://www.treviskeyweather.co.uk the graph files refuse to display. Every other aspect of the site works fine including the gauges, but having scoured the forum and the Wiki I'm at a loss to work out how to get them displayed. I've attached a copy of my cumulus.ini file and a screenshot of my ftp files if it helps solve the problem.

did you transfer all the files from webfiles directory to your server

My guess is your missing the highcharts files that are included within the webfiles and some other script files to make it work

Thanks Jeff, but oh were it that simple....The contents of the MX webfiles folder were faithfully transferred to my site, so I think the problem lies a little deeper. I even checked with my isp to make sure that json files were supported (they are)

CumulusMX does not by default create graphs. but does create charts.

https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=13189

if your talking about the Highchart Trends link, make sure the JSON files are processed to your webserver

make sure you have enabled:

Include graph data files - Select this to have the graph data files uploaded

in the webgui, Settings, Internet Settings, Web/FTP Settings

you might also need to restart CumulusMX.

Your web server is returning '404 not found' for the graph data json files, even though they are apparently being uploaded, according to your screen shot. The most likely cause is that your web server is not configured to handle json files, and if so, this will need to be corrected.

Resolved by a quick call to my website hosting company. They uploaded a config file to my site which allowed the json files to be processed. What was slightly off putting was that they claim to supported json already, but this is not by default and needs to be requested from them. :)

Host your own website. Then you wouldn't have json problems. there's pros and cons to everything.

Hi Mark,

Just browsed this entire thread & can't see an answer to my question.

I'm using just the standard files, trends.htm & cumuluscharts.js.

Is it possible some how to pass a button press to the js from the trends.htm?

Ie weather.inverellit.com/trends.htm?pressure

Thoughts being that if the above could be done it would allow posting of links that go directly to a page other than the default Temperature one.

Thanks

Phil

I'm not Mark, but I'll attempt to answer your question (although I'm not sure why you might have expected it to be answered in this particular thread). If you use window.location.href in the JavaScript for the page, you get the full URL, so you can extract the final part of the URL and open the requested chart. I don't actually know whether you would get the URL including the part after the question mark, though, you would have to try it. URLs of that type are normally used by PHP pages.

My Mistake,

This was the thread I was browsing, https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... ts#p122891.

Too many tabs open & distractions, hence I replied to the wrong thread.

I don't quite understand the usage of "window.location.href"; a bit out of my present depth.

trends.htm? etc was my poor example, what I meant was a full URL that could take me to a given graph.

Phil.

As Steve said you should be able to use the value of window.location.href to do this, but please repost on the correct thread (or Mod please move this to the other thread) and we'll handle it there...
