Cumulus MX on Kubuntu ?

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Cumulus MX on Kubuntu ?

Post by Greg_M »

New Member first question....

Will Cumulus MX run ok on Kubuntu provided I install the "mono" software?
I also have an XP computer available but I would rather use Linux

Thanks

It should run on any Linux, so long as the pre-requisites described in the instructions are installed. As you don't have a USB station, you shouldn't need to worry about libudev0, which can sometimes be lacking in some distros.

Thank you

Just to clarify, I am currently running WUHU on an XP machine, but my internet computer (and many others) are Kubuntu.
When we move this year (to New Mexico) I will install my Davis Christmas present and switch over the whole system.

When you use latest linux distributions you can get hold of old software packages by editing the sources.list so CumulusMX works.

I use Debian Jessie but had to refer back to Debian Wheezy to get libudev0 so it works.
