multiple USB devices

Post by bruton »

I am currently trying to get both my flight radar 24 and weather station running on the same pi zero.
FR24 uses a rtlsdr dongle and is working 100%
the weather station uses fine offset into cumulus and works 100%

If i use a usb hub so i can plug them both in together only the rtlsdr dongle works like it is ignoring the weather station.

Any advice on getting them both working together? am i hoping for too much using a usb hub?

If i look at what is connected i can see it is connected

Is it a powered hub as if it isn't the Pi doesn't have enough power on its USB inputs to run an unpowered hub.

Another thought is why run a hub for two inputs when a Pi has 4 USB inputs of its own?

Im using a pi zero not a pi3
The Pi zero only has 1 usb port.

i can order a powered usb hub but wanted to rule out any software issues first before buying more stuff.

Sorry a Pi zero will be even more prone to underpowered USB ports, so the only way to solve this is to buy a powered hub. There are no problems with the software when the USB ports are given the correct power.
