Please help. Comport for CumulusMX on Pi3

Topics about the Beta trials up to Build 3043, the last build by Cumulus's founder Steve Loft. It was by this time way out of Beta but Steve wanted to keep it that way until he made a decision on his and Cumulus's future.

Please help. Comport for CumulusMX on Pi3

Post by technerd »

Sorry for the probably stupid Pi3 newbie question.

I have a WMR100 weather station that has been running for years on Windows.
I am moving to Pi3. Tired of all the windows updates causing me grief.

I cannot seem to figure out what to put in for the port in Cumulus setup.
I ran the following command: dmesg after plugging in the WMR100 to a USB port on the Pi3

I received the following:
[71744.297913] usb 1-1.4: new low-speed USB device number 9 using dwc_otg
[71744.442324] usb 1-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=0fde, idProduct=ca01
[71744.442332] usb 1-1.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=1, SerialNumber=0
[71744.442336] usb 1-1.4: Product: Universal Bridge
[71744.448823] hid-generic 0003:0FDE:CA01.0004: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Device [Universal Bridge] on usb-3f980000.usb-1.4/input0

What should I put in the Comport setting for Cumulus? I looked at the FAQ but there is no /dev/tty/USBX retrieved from the above command.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanced.

You don't need a com port for a WMR100 as it's a USB device. If you have the required packages installed as described in the instructions, Cumulus will automatically detect the device.
