Twitter Token

Post by Jmilesy »

Hi, I have just had to reinstall Cumulus MX due to HD failure.

Twitter is no longer updating, I have changed my password etc, but to no avail.

I have read about the tokens, these show as unknown:

Code: Select all

[Twitter]
User=@DealWeather
Password=**********
Enabled=1
Interval=1
TwitterSendLocation=1
OauthToken=unknown
OauthTokenSecret=unknown
I am not using an adapted twitter.txt file at the moment

Am I missing something?

Many thanks

When it tries to obtain the tokens, Twitter says “Client is not permitted to perform this action”. I don’t know what would cause that. Have you tried putting in your username without the @ on the front, that’s how I’d normally expect to see it.

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

I tried both and using the email address etc.

Code: Select all

[Twitter]
User=DealWeather
Password=*********
Enabled=1
Interval=1
TwitterSendLocation=1
OauthToken=unknown
OauthTokenSecret=unknown
I still get the same message: ...Client is not permitted to perform this action...

I’ve just remembered that Twitter changed their API again and Cumulus can no longer obtain the tokens.

I’ve added this to the MX FAQ.

Not unless there’s some way of obtaining the tokens without needing Cumulus to get them.
