Hi guys -
A couple of months ago I migrated to Cumulus MX, but having found it to be unstable and needing to be restarted on a regular basis I'd like to revert to Cumulus 1. I wonder what the best procedure is for this, maintaining my data history?
Thanks,
Peter

If your locale hasn't changed - are you running MX on the same computer as you will run C1? - then I think it should only need some minor tweaks to the cumulus.ini file. The NOAA filename template changed on MX.

Shame there was no further response on this topic. It would have been interesting to learn if it was possible to easily alter the data. The wiki suggests not easy.

If your locale remains the same the data should be compatible. I have moved my data files from my pi to my laptop to edit them in C1, then moved them back to CMX on the pi without any problem.
The cumulus.ini requires a bit more work as some settings change between versions.

Thanks Mark.

As a separate note, download of MX can be unzipped into the existing Cumulus directory. As MX seems to contain its data in a db, that implies the running of MX hoovers up the existing data? Is that a correct assumption, or am I (as usual) barking up the 'wrong' tree ?Note that I cannot guarantee backwards compatibility of Cumulus data once it has been updated by MX, i.e.you are unlikely to be able to use the data from Cumulus MX with Cumulus 1.9.4 without some manual editing of some of the files.

Re: Downgrade to Cumulus 1?
MX stores its data in the same files as Cumulus 1.
The only other things I can think of at the moment which might cause an issue if going back to 1.9.4 are dates in .ini files, as I have changed a few to ISO format, but in theory 1.9.4 (or actually the system/library routines used by it) ought to be able to parse those anyway.
