Steve

I see what is going on, it is putting them in FTP root and not changing to images and putting them there, is this deliberate do I need to change my HTML?

Cheers

To allow for changes to the options for uploading, I've changed the way it constructs the path for the images folder. There may be a bug, or it may be that the way you have specified your ftp directory doesn't work with the new code.

What it does now is:

For the html files: 'CD <ftp_directory>'

Then, for the images: 'CD /<ftp_directory>/images

Where <ftp_directory> is whatever you've put in that field in the internet config.

Given the above, does the ftp directory you've configured work with that?

well my FTP directory is called webcam (don't ask why!) anyway that is all I have in internet setup screen

Webcam is on my wwwroot.

images is a sub directory of webcam

as I said it worked before this latest version, now all the graphs are being put into webcam

so I guess the CD isn't working

is the colon a problem or just your text divider, it looks like it is trying to find a directory called images:

Bob,

Try /wwwroot/webcam for your ftp directory.

This is a Windows server then? :(

Any IIS experts reading?

Bob - could you log in to your ftp server with command line ftp, cd to the images directory, do PWD and tell me what it says, please?

Interesting.

I have not been looking at the uploaded images (concentrating on the realtime updated items).

This morning when I looked at my images, they had not been uploaded since yesterday.

Time now is: Oct 5 7:03

Code: Select all

-rw-r--r-- 1 cumulus wwwgroup 7922 Oct 4 13:24 wind.png

I think that matches with when I did the last update.

Another thing that I noted, and I thought I saw this before but I was not sure then, is that the Web Update is greyed out. I've seen it greyed out when it is doing an update, but then it would un-grey and you could select it.

This morning I've looked at it for several minutes and it never un-greys out.

I turned on FTP Logging to see if I can see what is going on. But it doesn't seem to be logging at all. The date on the ftp.log file is yesterday, not today.

On the Server Side, I see the following in the ftp logs:

The realtime updates are taking place....

Code: Select all

sonic.tnet.com UNKNOWN cumulus [05/Oct/2008:07:39:14 -0700] "STOR realtime.txttmp" 226 70

The other files update (set to every 5 minutes) is not happening. I checked the logs and the last time the ftp server saw an update of one of the normal files was at the same time listed above for the images.

Note that I have Images on, Standard files off.

I've turned on debugging to see what it collects. After waiting more than 10 minutes, the debug logs doesn't show the image files ftp attempts.

All it shows is...

Interesting I downloaded the latest at 07:44 this morning and its running fine. However I had setup an ftp account for Cumulus which starts at the Cumulus directory so my directory on the internet settings is blank so all Cumulus has to do is cd to images and its working fine.

Now a cd ftpdirectory and a cd /ftpdirectory/images will work OK on *nix but for IIS I'm guessing that it wont work as this is not the full path, why do it like that, since images is s sub-directory of ftpdirectory a simple cd ftpdirectory followed by a cd images will work fine.

Unless you have unselected 'upload standard files' but have selected 'upload standard images', which is why I changed it in the first place.

I could have CD'd to the standard ftp directory in any case, and left it as it was, but I didn't see the point in doing an unnecessary CD if it wasn't going to put files there. And in any case, the 'extra files' facility assumes an absolute path anyway, as otherwise how would it know where to put them?

Surely there must be a way of specifying an absolute path even in a piece of junk like IIS?

Re: Graphs - SORTED

HiSteve,

After sending you the FTP dialogue, it got me thinking.

As webcam is my FTP root I took it out of the internet setup... the box is blank

now it is working fine and standard files are going to the ftp root (webcam) and images are going into the/images directory (the subdir of webcam)

Probably not quite how you intended.

but working fine now!

Regards

Oh I see! I think. Well it's working anyway, and it looks like IIS isn't actually the cause of the problem. Maybe. Is the sun over the yardarm yet?
